Meet a #futureshaper: Mashael Al Ibrahim

She is the first female network engineer in Honeywell Saudi Arabia.

Since she was a child Mashael Al Ibrahim has been fascinated by technology. She believes the sky is the limit, both in her personal and professional life.

Based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia; here is her #futureshaper story.

Where did you go to school?

I studied Management Information Systems in Ahlia University of Bahrain.

What gets you excited about going to work every day?

In my job, every day is different and presents new challenges. I always need to find innovative solutions for Honeywell and our partners. It never gets boring and that’s what keeps me excited.

    What do you do?

As a network engineer, I set the communication standards between the different systems in industrial plants by creating a sophisticated network infrastructure within one or more plants. After working on key mega-projects in Saudi Arabia for the past six years, I am now transitioning to a new role where I can leverage my technology experience to lead our localization strategy in the Kingdom.

If you were a fortune teller, what would you predict as the future of your industry?

I think everything will change: the way we connect, the way we learn, and even the way we innovate. The success of my industry will depend on the development of advanced and dynamic solutions to cope with this ongoing transformation.

In your eyes, what qualities does a #futureshaper possess?

Integrity, but also customer focus and the attitude to lead by example.

What advice would you give someone who wants to follow in your footsteps?

Focus on learning and stay curious.

When you are not working, what do you do for fun?

I like biking and jogging; it helps me to clear my head when I need to think. I also like to travel and experience different cultures.
