Meet a #futureshaper: Gary Williams

He manages a team that helps sellers.

Gary Williams is responsible for managing a team focused on helping sellers close deals while delivering business intelligence and analytics back to the leaders of the company.

Based in Fort Mill, South Carolina; here is his #futureshaper story.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

In my teenage years I wanted to write code for software companies and get into the video game industry.

What brought you to Honeywell?

The desire to work for a company that was focused on growth and success.

What gets you excited about going to work every day?

Every day is different, the personal growth I have experienced and watching my team develop.

Did you ever imagine you would end up in the job you are now?

Never…. But it is a great opportunity and learning experience. I look forward to continuing to grow my skillset and develop.

If you were a fortune reader, what would you predict as the future of your industry?

Hardware will become a commodity, while software and problem-solving solutions will pave the way.

In your eyes, what qualities does a #futureshaper possess?

A #futureshaper needs to be committed, driven, a self-starter, focused, hungry, curious and engaged.

What advice would you give someone who wants to follow in your footsteps?

Ask questions, focus on you and your goals, do not dwell on one thing, build a 3-year plan, stay curious and open minded, engage others and keep your foot on the gas.

When you are not working, what do you do for fun?

I enjoy family time with my two boys, wife and dogs. I enjoy working on cars and building engines, participating in Little League baseball with my son, collecting movie props, and spending time at the lake in the summer.
