    Meet a #futureshaper: Mythili Belle

She’s making every flight more efficient.

Mythili Belle never imagined she would be creating the future of flight.

As an embedded engineering manager who has been with Honeywell for over 17 years, she still gets excited about coming to work every day.

She loves “the great work culture, amazing workforce, constant zeal to outperform, raising the bar to excel and ability to create value for customers,” she says.

Based in Bangalore, India; here is her #futurestory.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was a child, I was inspired by those around me and wanted to be a police inspector, teacher, banker and doctor.

    What brought you to Honeywell?

A walk-in interview brought me to Honeywell. Once I found out Honeywell was a Fortune 500 company, I knew I wanted the opportunity to work with such a well-esteemed organization.

Did you ever imagine you would end up in the job you are now?

No. What I did know was that I would be successful in life, I just did not envision it in Aerospace.

If you were a fortune reader, what would you predict as the future of your industry?

The Aerospace industry will leverage the fast-evolving technologies to transform itself to be disruptive and unconventional. The power of aerospace and avionics, which was limited to only aircrafts would now be beyond cockpits and into urban air mobility and offboarding applications.

In your eyes, what qualities does a #futureshaper possess?

A #futureshaper should demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset with the passion to create the future by leveraging the strength of the present domain and learnings from the past.

What advice would you give someone who wants to follow in your footsteps?

My advice to our fellow engineers would be to be passionate about your work and make a difference in the assigned tasks irrespective of their magnitude. Focus not only on completing tasks but finding new ways to accomplish them faster and even better. Find a mentor who can guide you and help you grow every day. Be 100% accountable for your work regardless of your role. Have a progressive and continuous learning mindset and take charge of your career. Do not fear going out of your comfort zone.

When you are not working, what do you do for fun?

I love spending time with my daughter and son. There is never a dull moment when you have a teen and a toddler at home. I am a movie buff who loves traveling, cooking and reading.
