Honeywell Modernizes Press Automation at Schibsted Trykk Oslo Printing Facility

KUOPIO, Finland, May 30, 2014 Honeywell ( NYSE:HON) Process Solutions today announced it has been selected by Schibsted Trykk Oslo AS, the largest newspaper printing plant in Norway, to upgrade its Printa press control systems.These solutions will help Schibsted Trykk Oslo more easily control the printing process, reduce waste and increase efficiency long into the future."The modifications we are making to Schibsted Trykk Oslo's production process will ultimately allow it to get more papers into people's hands with greater efficiency and with less cost," said Marko Jmsn, leader of Honeywell Process Solutions' pulp, paper and printing business. "In the current economic climate, it's of extreme importance that facilities improve the utilization of their resources and work with suppliers who can provide long-term support to help maintain the systems' availability. By using Honeywell, Schibsted Trykk Oslo has taken the prudent step of selecting a phased approach of upgrading its press control systems, protecting its existing assets and allowing the company to maintain performance into the future."Honeywell Process Solutions (HPS) will upgrade the Printa Press Control Systems to the latest Profibus technology as well as update the existing controllers for the 10 tower and two folder Goss Colorliner press line at Schibsted Trykk Oslo. In addition, HPS will modernize the Printa systems' control desks and human machine interfaces with Windows 7 operating system support and upgrade the Printa Production Management System.
