Honeywell Life Care Solutions Introduces "Seymour"

New Platform Allows Consumers to Aggregate Disparate Health Information and Securely Exchange Data with Healthcare Providers LAS VEGAS, Nev. January 5, 2015: For the nine out of ten consumers who want to manage their healthcare using technology, Honeywell ( NYSE: HON) Life Care Solutions today announced its new Seymour platform. For the first time, consumers will have one unified platform to pull together health data from disparate sources, such as blood pressure cuffs or glucometers and wellness devices and applications, such as fitness trackers.A first for the health IT industry, Seymour serves as an aggregator of consumer-generated health data while also enabling secure communication between consumers and their healthcare providers in a format defined by healthcare professionals. This two-way flow of complete health information allows both consumers and their healthcare providers to quickly assess trends and changes in the individual's overall health, and address any issues as they arise outside hospital walls or the physician's office.Initially Seymour will be provided to patients following an event such as a surgery or chronic illness diagnosis, to form daily structure around the recovery process and long-term health management. Seymour will provide consumers with the platform to receive customized care plans and other educational resources from their healthcare provider."In order for technology to be effective in health management, it has to be actionable," said John Bojanowski, president-Honeywell Life Care Solutions. "Recent research indicates that the plethora of health-related devices and applications at our disposal have not provided a greater understanding of actual overall health. Seymour will help both consumers and providers understand, for example, how a daily three-mile run and the use of a calorie-counting app is impacting a pre-diabetic diagnosis."Seymour leverages the Android operating system for an intuitive, consumer-based interface, while also providing the capability to manage multiple household members.Seymour will be available to consumers through their healthcare providers via national pilot programs later in 2015.
