Solstice® Propellant helps Accessories Marketing meet globalregulations while maintaining product performance
MORRISTOWNSHIP, N.J., Jan. 29, 2015: Honeywell (NYSE:HON) announced today that its low-global-warming propellant, Solstice ®Propellant, will be used in Fix-A-Flat ® and Slime ® consumerand commercial tire inflators.
AccessoriesMarketing, the world's largest seller of aerosol tire inflators, has chosenSolstice Propellant to power new ultra-low-global-warming-potential (GWP)versions of its flagship tire inflator products, which are used to fix flattires.
Witha GWP of less than 1, Solstice Propellant helps Accessories Marketing meetglobal environmental regulations for high-GWP propellants while offering thesame reliable performance as prior-generation products.

Accordingto the Consumer Specialty Products Association, more than 24 million cans oftire inflators and sealants were produced in 2013. Solstice Propellant is beingadopted by a variety of companies, including those in the personal care, electronicsand industrial manufacturing industries, for use in applications ranging from dustersto personal care sprays.

SolsticePropellant has a GWP of less than 1, is nonflammable per ASTM E681 and ISO10156:2010 testing, and is non-ozone depleting. It is considered a replacementfor HFC-134a propellant, which has a GWP of 1,300. It is also not a volatileorganic compound (VOC), as determined by the U.S. Environmental ProtectionAgency and the California Air Resource Board (CARB). Honeywell announcedearlier this month that it is now supplying Solstice Propellant to globalaerosol manufacturers from its world-scale manufacturing facility in BatonRouge, La.
Inaddition to Solstice Propellant, Honeywell's family of Solstice-brandedproducts includes stationary and mobile refrigerants, liquid and gaseousblowing agents, and solvents based on Honeywell's new hydrofluoro-olefintechnology that helps customers lower their carbon footprint withoutsacrificing end-product performance. These products have been developed and arebeing commercialized by Honeywell's Fluorine Products business, a leader in themanufacture and supply of non-ozone-depleting refrigerants used by topair-conditioning and refrigeration makers worldwide, blowing agents for energy-efficientfoam insulation, and environmentally-preferable solvents.
