Honeywell Handheld Computer Supports Cerner CareAware Connect to Enhance Clinician Mobility
November 10, 2016
To deliver an efficient care experience, care teams need a reliable platform to communicate, collaborate and access patients' records. Using Honeywell's DolphinTM CT50h handheld computer with Cerner's CareAware Connect software, clinicians can make Voice over internet Protocol (VoIP) calls and securely text message with other care providers, receive critical alerts and easily view and document within patients' electronic health records (EHR).
“Hospitals must rely on new mobile technology solutions to empower their staff and improve the various routines and work processes associated with patient care,” said Kirk Heyde, vice president of North America sales for Honeywell's Productivity Products business. “With Cerner's CareAware Connect platform running on Honeywell's handheld computer, nurses will be able to communicate effectively and spend more time engaged with their patients.”
The Dolphin CT50h mobile computer features a powerful barcode scanner, providing the clinical staff a consolidated device that supports Cerner's medication administration process while reducing the overall technology investment.
The enterprise device features a large display screen with a familiar, intuitive interface to provide nurses with a better user experience for reading text messages and viewing patient data. The large display makes it easier to read while walking than a traditional, consumer smartphone. The Honeywell handheld computer is also equipped with a powerful battery able to last an entire shift, which can prevent nurses from losing critical time when having to stop and charge a device.
