Meet a #futureshaper: Alanoud Aladwan

    She's making oil and gas operations more efficient using Artificial Intelligence.

    As a teenager, Alanoud Aladwan always imagined she would work in oil and gas.

    When an opportunity to join Honeywell came along, she knew it would be the perfect place to start her career.

    Now, as a field service engineer, Alanoud gets to work in the industry she always imagined she would and in a vital role. “I help maintain and control oil and gas fields by building systems and controllers on site,” she said.

    Based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; here is her #futureshaper story.

    When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

    When I was a child, I did not know exactly what I wanted to be. But I knew I wanted to be successful. Therefore, I had a mindset to not shy away from challenging opportunities, and to not give up when faced with something I couldn’t do.

    What brought you to Honeywell?

    I like challenges and new experiences. I knew Honeywell would be a place where I would be challenged, experience new opportunities, and have the opportunity to grow.

    What gets you excited about going to work every day?

    I know that every time I wake up to go to work there are going to be new opportunities and new knowledge to be gained.

    If you were a fortune reader, what would you predict as the future of your industry?

    I predict Honeywell will be a leading company in artificial intelligence for oil and gas.

    In your eyes, what qualities does a #futureshaper possess?

    Leadership, teamwork, strategic planning and growth.

    What advice would you give someone who wants to follow in your footsteps?

    Always seek knowledge. Always say yes to new opportunities, because doing so helps overcome your fears.

    When you are not working, what do you do for fun?

    I have another career, in the UAE national football team. When I am not working, you can find me on the field playing football.
