This summer, Honeywell welcomed a new class of interns who are already making their mark across various businesses. These students are not only contributing to real-world projects, but they are also imagining what their industries will look like in the next decade and how they’ll help shape that future.

From software engineering to HR, marketing to finance, these students are making an impact.

We asked them to share how they envision their sectors evolving in the next 10 years and what excites them most about that future.

    Here’s how they’re thinking about what’s next:

    Angeline Dossen, Howard University
    Software Engineering Bachelors Intern

“Over the next 10 years, I envision the realm of technology becoming even more deeply integrated with AI, automation and edge computing, especially in industries like aerospace, manufacturing and energy where Honeywell operates. What excites me most is the potential to build intelligent and more adaptive systems that anticipate problems before they arise. As someone passionate about both innovation and impact, I hope to play a role in developing software that bridges the gap between cutting-edge technology and real-world problems. I aim to help create solutions that are both intelligent and human-centered.”

    Aubrey Winger, University of Arizona
    Future Finance Leader Intern

“This summer, I had the opportunity to work in our sensing solutions business within Honeywell Industrial Automation. Over the next 10 years, I envision significant advancements in production technology and equipment within the sensing sector, particularly through the integration of artificial intelligence.

This summer, my project was focused on healthcare sensing and how automation could be used to help enhance production processes.

Though my summer with Honeywell is coming to an end, I am proud to have played a role by highlighting opportunities to maximize capacity for various healthcare sensor production lines and sites through my project work.”

CorDai Epting, Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University
    Future Finance Leader Intern

“In the next 10 years, I see the finance world becoming even more connected to technology, sustainability and real-time decision making. At Honeywell, I’ve quickly learned that finance plays a key role alongside operations, supply chain and engineering, and I see that growing even stronger and being more efficient as innovation continues to grow. What excites me the most is the continued growth of automation. The ability to unlock insights faster, streamline processes and overall make life a little easier will keep pushing the boundaries of what finance can do. I hope to play a role in this by bringing a fresh perspective, curiosity and the right amount of hustle too. Helping turn data and research into action and keep us moving forward.”

Erin Mazza, University of South Carolina
    Future HR Leader Masters Intern

"Over the next 10 years, I envision HR becoming more integrated with technology, data analytics and employee experience. Throughout my internship, I have been inspired by the growing emphasis on inclusion and purpose-driven work. I hope to contribute by championing initiatives that merge empathy with innovation, whether that's designing inclusive talent strategies, leveraging technology to improve employee engagement or helping leaders build a workplace that is enjoyable for all. As an intern this summer, I have already seen how HR can be a catalyst for positive change, so I hope to be the change that I have witnessed in the future."

    Marissa Ciemny, Pennsylvania State University
    Future Finance Leader Intern

“My internship in research and development and IT finance at Honeywell has sparked an interest in the convergence of finance and technology. In this role, I've actively engaged with financial data analysis and reporting, witnessing how AI automation and real-time dashboards are transforming revenue tracking and decision-making processes. I am eager to leverage this blend of financial insight and technical expertise to help implement data-driven strategies that foster smarter, more agile financial decision-making, particularly in driving revenue growth. In 10 years, I hope that automation is a way of life, and resources will be focused solely on analysis.”

    Kevin Kibe, Texas A&M University
    Future HR Leader Masters Intern

“Over the next 10 years, I imagine the HR sector globally evolving into a more data-driven, employee-centric and strategically integrated function. The rise of AI, predictive analytics and digital platforms will transform how we manage talent, assess performance and create engagement. HR will no longer be seen as a support function but as a strategic partner driving business outcomes through people.

As an HR intern on the regional team, I’ve seen firsthand how culture integration, talent development and strategic alignment play out in real time.

Looking ahead, I hope to play a role in advancing inclusive leadership, designing agile talent strategies and leveraging technology to enhance employee experience.”

Ramon Kelly, Johnson C. Smith University
    Future Finance Leader Intern

“The power systems business today within Honeywell Aerospace is a world leader in auxiliary power units and electric power across air transport, business general aviation, and defense. I expect to see continued growth in the next 10 years, combined with more electric power offerings to address the needs of that growing segment and delivering high value retrofits, modifications and upgrades. As a finance intern, I have played a key role in enhancing aftermarket key performance indicators to drive both short-term execution and long-term strategy.”

    Sara Larson, Emory University
    Marketing Bachelor's Intern in Atlanta

“From a marketing leadership perspective, I hope we see AI used not to replace creativity, but to make space for it. When we free up time to let our minds wander, we unlock the kind of fresh, human-centered ideas that actually connect. I’m excited to be a catalyst for this shift, ensuring creativity and empathy aren’t just nice-to-haves, but the key to standing out.”

Samantha Michael, University of North Carolina at Charlotte
    Future IT Leader Masters Intern

“I envision the AI and machine learning sector evolving toward more human-centered, ethical, and accessible solutions over the next decade. One of the most exciting shifts is the democratization of data. Making powerful insights available to people across all roles and backgrounds, not just technical experts. With my foundation in psychology and recruitment, and now data science, I’m passionate about helping people use data to solve real-world problems, whether that’s improving hiring practices, supporting mental health or driving workplace equity. I hope to play a role in building tools and systems that are not only intelligent but also intuitive and inclusive, empowering individuals to make informed decisions with confidence. For me, it’s about bridging the gap between data and people, serving human needs while driving meaningful business value.”
