In today’s digital age, it is common to walk into a retail store, a healthcare facility or a distribution center and see employees carrying a mobile device. These handheld computers are vital to capturing real-time data and enabling operations to run efficiently. As a critical part of companies’ IT assets, it is important to optimize how these devices—often from a variety of different suppliers—are used across an entire operation. That’s where Honeywell Operational Intelligence comes in, in collaboration with software company B2M Solutions.
Establishing A New Software Collaboration
Honeywell is working with B2M Solutions to extend Honeywell Operational Intelligence capabilities to non-Honeywell mobile computers. For companies with a mixed fleet of mobile devices, this software integration creates an agnostic solution that enables them to use Honeywell software to turn data from across their mobile assets into actionable insights on productivity, maintenance needs and site performance.
“By creating a plug-and-play software solution that is agnostic to device type, we are helping enable businesses to unlock the power of their own data so they can gain a more comprehensive view into their productivity,” said Taylor Smith, chief marketing officer, Honeywell Productivity Solutions and Services.
Honeywell Operational Intelligence is a cloud-based insights and automation platform helping businesses optimize deployment and use of mobile technologies in a number of ways. For example, it can provide proactive alerts to highlight potential problems such as battery degradation, frequent drops or excessive downtime. From there, the software can trigger automated maintenance workflows to resolve issues without manual intervention.
“Through our collaboration with B2M, we are expanding our ability to deploy unified retail and supply chain solutions that further reinforce our commitment to interoperability and customer choice,” added Smith.
A Joint Commitment to Innovation
Through this collaboration, Honeywell’s Operational Intelligence software can now be deployed on non-Honeywell devices through B2M’s Elemez Mobile Digital Employee Experience (Mobile DEX) platform. The platform supports a wide range of Windows and Android devices from leading manufacturers, improving the deployment and use of enterprise mobility.
“By working together, Honeywell and B2M are not only enabling customers to benefit from more real-time insights, customizable reporting and increased productivity but we are also extending our shared focus on innovation and flexibility in mobile device management,” said Gary Lee, CEO, B2M Solutions.
Understanding Honeywell Operational Intelligence
Honeywell Operational Intelligence provides real-time information and predictive analytics across several areas, including real-time device health monitoring, proactive alerts, automated maintenance and thorough reporting capabilities.
For example, the software can provide visibility into battery life, location, connectivity and performance of devices. As a result, companies can conduct remote troubleshooting, find lost assets and proactively detect and resolve other issues before they cause operational disruptions.
In addition, Honeywell Operational Intelligence’s customizable reports enable operations to track device usage patterns, identify trends and uncover opportunities to improve performance across different sites.
