We rely on our online orders showing up on our doorstep.

Each day in 2018, UPS delivered 20.7 million packages and documents.

Meanwhile, Amazon Prime members last year ordered more than 2 billion products with one-day delivery or faster.

That means behind the scenes in warehouses, a complex system must get items from shelves to shipping as fast as possible, Eric says. That includes robots helping unload trucks and pick items.

That automation means items will be shipped and delivered at record speeds.
