Spotlight: Ashley Wyton

Ashley Wyton, Honeywell Systems Sales Leader for the UK and Ireland is part of our commercial security team. Honeywell is unique in the market, bringing together an end-to-end security solution coupled with best-in-class analytics packages. These systems can talk to other Honeywell solutions such as lighting and building management solutions creating an ecosystem that a user can control from one source, or as we describe it, a “single pane of glass.”
How did you get into sales?
I started my career in construction as a carpenter, however I soon realized it wasn’t for me. I’m an extrovert who enjoys working with people. An opportunity was presented for me to join a company as a trainee sales rep. I discovered how much I like sales and joined Honeywell in 2017 where I’ve really developed my passion for providing solutions through the sales process.
What attracted you to working at Honeywell?
Working with Honeywell means working with a diverse, global team of really smart people who are solving problems and defining the future of technology and business. I really like the diversity of Honeywell and the number of different marketplaces available to work in. My ambition is to grow with the company and relocate to gain new and exciting perspectives of the world through different industries. The support here is fantastic, and there are a multitude of opportunities to learn and develop. I have been fortunate to take part in both online training and classroom-based training.
What do you enjoy most about your role as a Sales Leader?
I enjoy the coaching aspects, as it is very rewarding to see individuals develop. It is also fantastic to see the diversity we have across a team, leveraging the different skillsets to achieve our goals.
What are your interests outside of work?
I’m a keen outdoor person: I enjoy clay pigeon shooting, walking, and generally spending time outdoors with my family.
What TV show are you currently hooked on?
Game of Thrones. I also enjoy police documentaries.

Do you have any advice for people considering a career in sales at Honeywell?
