    Shaping The Future of Energy

Global energy demand is increasing – it rose by 2.2% last year1 – due to factors like increasing global population and growing adoption of new technologies. While addressing demand and security, including less carbon-intensive options, Honeywell is enabling the next evolution of energy through digital and technology solutions. Honeywell offers advanced grid technologies that support distribution grid operations and distributed energy resource integrations, comprehensive LNG production offerings, innovative technologies for lower-carbon fuel production and solutions that can assist organizations with managing their energy consumption.

    Comprehensive LNG Solutions

Our comprehensive solutions address the entire LNG value chain, including liquefaction, shipping, regasification, pipelines and micro-LNG.

Licensed >1,100 Hydrogen Purification Installation technologies

Our hydrogen purification technologies are trusted at more than 1,000 sites worldwide.

70+ Licensed Units for Renewable Fuels

More than 70 sites have licensed Honeywell technologies to produce renewable fuels including sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

Bringing Solutions to the Energy Space

From Distributed Energy Resource (DER) Integration to Grid Resilience

Despite increasing energy demand, it’s estimated that 70% of lines and transformers on the grid are more than 25 years old.2 Outdated and overloaded grids can struggle to integrate distributed energy resources (DERs) and manage new energy loads. Honeywell’s performance management and predictive analytics software, Honeywell Forge Performance+ for Utilities, brings valuable visibility and control to distribution grid operations and distributed energy resource integrations. Our battery energy storage systems, microgrid controls and energy management systems can enable virtual power plants to help create more resilient grids.

    Driving LNG Growth

Increasing energy demand creates a need to integrate multiple energy sources to help maintain a stable supply. Global demand for LNG is expected to grow more than 50% by 2040 as nations seek reliable and lower carbon energy sources.3 The ability to store and transport LNG enables countries to respond flexibly to sudden shifts in demand. Honeywell’s comprehensive LNG solutions can help address the requirements of the supply chain including solutions for liquefaction, shipping, regasification, pipelines and micro-LNG.

    From Renewable Diesel to SAF

With 70 renewable fuel licenses across the world, Honeywell is committed to driving the growth of renewable diesel, sustainable aviation fuel and eSAF. In fact, Honeywell Ecofining® is a proven technology that has been used around the world for years. It produces sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), which helps reduce GHG emissions up to 80% when compared to the emissions from fossil fuels.4 "By 2035, SAF is expected to displace nine percent of worldwide jet fuel demand.5"

Pathways to Support a Hydrogen Economy

According to the International Energy Agency, hydrogen and hydrogen-based fuels can significantly reduce emissions, especially in hard-to-abate industries.6 Honeywell has supported hydrogen processing for more than 50 years and strongly backs the growth of the hydrogen economy through hydrogen purification, hydrogen control systems, carbon capture and long-distance hydrogen transport. We estimate that our hydrogen combustion technologies can have a cumulative impact of mitigating about 50 million metric tons of CO2e between 2023 and 2030.7

Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS) Solutions

Carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS) has become a key technology for sectors like power, oil and gas and heavy industry. These users are turning to CCUS to improve operations and unlock value from captured CO2. Backed by 100 years of innovation, Honeywell’s advanced carbon capture technologies, including solvents, adsorbents, cryogenics, membranes and emissions monitoring controls, allow us to customize solutions for a variety of requirements. We project that our CCUS technologies can have a cumulative impact of mitigating about 320 million metric tons of CO2e between 2023 and 2030.10
