Honeywell Recognized for Helping To Keep Kids Safe

The Hope Award recognizes a commitment to the safety of children

On April 12 in Washington D.C., the National Center forMissing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) presentedthe 2018 Hope Award to Honeywell, recognizing our long-term partnership and commitment to the safety ofchildren.

Since 2003, HoneywellHometown Solutions, our corporate citizenship initiative, hassponsored the award-winning KidSmartz™ for children in grades K-5.

The KidSmartz program focuses on keeping the lines of communication open between parents and children, helping them identify trusted adults and avoid potentially dangerous situations. The program includes personal safety videos, music, quizzes, journal writing exercises, and classroom activities via a digital platform. All instructional materials are available for free in English, Spanish and the visual SymbolStix™, used by special needs students and English language learners.KidSmartz is funded by donations from Honeywell employees, and has received awards including the 2016 Learning Magazine’s Teacher’s Choice Award for classroom products.Past recipients of the Hope Award include General Colin Powell and Vice President Joe Biden.
