Refrigerants play a vital role in India — helping to keep people cool in their cars, homes, offices and other buildings year-round. As demand for them grows, Honeywell has unveiled a
state-of-the-art refrigerant laboratory
at its Honeywell India Technology Center (HITC) in Gurgaon, a city just south of New Delhi.
Indian companies that manufacture products using refrigerants—such as appliances, chillers and air conditioners—will be able to design, incubate and test new refrigerants at the lab. They will have access to a wide variety of modern equipment that can evaluate the related technologies. For example, the lab can simulate a full spectrum of global temperatures inside environmental chambers, and testers can see how their equipment fares against these temperatures.
India's refrigeration and air conditioning industries are transitioning to the next generation of cooling technology that has lower environmental impact, provides equal or greater energy efficiency and savings to users, and meets environmental regulations.
“With the launch of this laboratory at HITC, we look forward to working hand-in-hand with our Indian partners to design near drop-in
that help them meet their environmental commitments,” said Julien Soulet, managing director for Honeywell Fluorine Products in Europe, Middle East, Africa and India.
Honeywell has worked extensively with partners in India to help meet the demand for industry-leading environmental solutions. Now, equipment manufacturers have a new resource for testing refrigerant technology, as more and more customers in India adopt environmentally preferable refrigerants that are aligned with the Government of India's vision of
Make in India.
