Connected Plant Technologies Fuel Kuwaits Petrochemical Sector

According to the World Bank, major infrastructure projects are a key growth driver for Kuwait'seconomy, which grew by an estimated 3 percent last year. Part of that growthwas fueled by higher oil production. Kuwait is no stranger to adopting the latest inoil and gas technologies. One of the country's largest marketers of paraxylene, petrochemical that is the primary component of plastics‚ recently adopted two of our Connected Plant services toimprove its performance. Kuwait Paraxylene ProductionCompany (KPPC)will use Process Reliability Advisor to monitor, detect and mitigate performance issuesbefore they become serious. It also will use ProcessOptimization Advisor tocontinuously monitor real-time plant data, then apply that data to processmodels to determine the most economical mode of operations.“Both of these services combine plant process datawith Honeywell UOP expertise and powerful software to enable our customers torun more reliably and at the top of their plant capabilities,” said Zak Alzein,vice president for Honeywell UOP's Connected Performance Services business. “Wewill be able to identify operational adjustments that provide significantincremental value that KPPC is able to achieve by using these services.”
