Honeywell Chairman and CEO Dave Cote Tops 2015 Rittenhouse Rankings for Engaging and Informative Shareowner Communications

Honeywell Chairman and CEO Dave Cote ranked in the top quartile of the recently released 2015 Rittenhouse Rankings Candor Survey for his efforts in engaging and informative communications with company shareholders. Honeywell has ranked in the top quartile for five out of the past six years, and placed second twice.
The survey reviews shareowner letters from 100, Fortune 500 companies to objectively analyze CEO words and context to produce reliable, relevant, and comparable Candor Scores and Rankings. The survey is one of a number of analytic tools that uses “Financial Linguistics,” an emerging field of investment analysis that focuses on the importance of analyzing words as well as numbers to identify tangible and intangible drivers of shareholder value.
The survey reported that top-ranked companies in the 2015 Rittenhouse Rankings Candor Survey outperformed the S&P 500, with a total average return of 17.6 percent compared to the S&P 500 return of 1.8 percent over the survey period from Q2 2015 to Q2 2016. Over the past five years, top-quartile companies have outperformed the market by an average of 16.8 percent.
Candor scores are based on executive language which is vital not only for describing the elements that make up a corporate culture, but for continuously reinforcing and reshaping that culture offering unique insights into the “soft” drivers of performance and culture.
